Natural Deodorant

I’ve almost tried all the ‘natural deodorants’ out there! They all work wonderful in winter, but I could not find one working effectively in SUMMER! That is until I’ve tried this ‘home-made’ recipe. Why bother to go all natural with deodorant?

 
Most commercial deodorants and antiperspirants contain synthetic chemicals such as parabens and aluminium. We don’t only excrete toxins through our skin, but will also absorb all these synthetic chemicals we apply to our skin. Women tend to shave their armpits, increasing the likelihood of absorbing these chemicals through abrased skin. Although still controversial, evidence (and common sense) abounds regarding the harmful effects of aluminium and paraben exposure. From cancer to neurological disease (such as Alzheimer’s) have been linked to aluminium and parabens. For optimum health, we must limit the influx of harmful toxins and chemicals into our body.

Most modern Westerners have not even heard of nettles, never mind eaten them! Unless you are into herbal medicine or shop from organic markets, this herb is most probably not in your shopping basket. This is one of the main problem areas of our modern diet – we don’t include these nutrient dense food sources in our daily diet! Stinging nettles are very nutritious with a long history of use as a medicinal plant, and they have the added bonus of tasting delicious and not like medicine at all.
